Why DemShade exists
DemShade started as a personal fix for a personal annoyance: running a multi-monitor setup, going fullscreen in a game, and having every other screen either go pitch black or sit there showing a static desktop. Neither felt right for long sessions — one was just dead space, the other was a constant, low-grade distraction.
The idea was simple: let the GPU that's already rendering the game generate something calmer for the screens around it — smooth, ambient, reactive to the moment, and completely automatic. No manual switching, no extra window to manage. It turns on when you go fullscreen and turns off when you don't.
It's built and maintained by one person, in spare time, mostly late at night — which is also, unsurprisingly, when it gets used the most.
